About Volunteering
This measures the percentage of a country’s population who have been involved in work for a voluntary or charitable organization in the last 12 months.
It was derived from the European Social Survey question which asks how often people have been involved in this sort of voluntary work in the last year. The resulting data was used to measure the percentage of respondents in each country who had done any volunteering in the last year.
